Une face sombre, solitaire et une autre plus lumineuse et ouverte constituent ce double album de relectures acoustiques, pour lequel Patrick Wolf a fait usage de nombreux instruments baroques (harpe celtique, clavecin, dulcimer, violon alto...) en réaction aux traitements électroniques clinquants devenus courants dans le monde de la pop.
