On était passé à côté de cette tentative un peu synth-pop de l’excellent Josh Rouse - les amateurs du Destroyer des 10s ou des Shout Out Louds d’Optica (et de leurs ascendants à tous deux bien sûr, les Pet Shop Boys de Behaviour) devraient apprécier l’évidence sous influence 80s mais spleenétique et élégante de ces chansons toujours aussi charmantes et joliment texturées.
On le savait exilé en Espagne, patrie de sa compagne Paz Suay, depuis le très pop Subtitulo qu’elle illuminait de sa voix doucement acidulée le temps d’un duo (merveilleux The Man Who) avant de l’accompagner sur tout un EP pour le projet She’s Spanish, I’m American en 2007 puis sur son dernier album en date, le très 60’s Country Mouse, City House.
